Oppo Launches ChatGPT Rival and Samsung recently introduced Gauss AI for Galaxy phones. Oppo is following suit with the announcement of AndesGPT, set to debut with the flagship Find X7 series next month.
Oppo’s AndesGPT is composed of 7 billion parameters, featuring three distinct tiers similar to Google’s recently revealed Gemini AI model. AndesGPT will include Tiny, Turbo, and Titan AI models, each progressively enhancing capabilities. AndesGPT Tiny incorporates 7 billion parameters, while Turbo and Titan boast 70 billion and 180 billion parameters, respectively.
According to Oppo, the Tiny model is lightweight and efficient, making it suitable for running on consumer devices like smartphones. The Turbo variant promises fast responses and a well-balanced experience across various scenarios. Lastly, the Titan model is designed for deep reasoning and handling complex tasks.
Similar to competing AI chatbots, AndesGPT can handle multiple input methods, including texts, voice, images, documents, and more. Oppo highlights that the chatbot can generate abstracts with up to 14,000 words and offers faster response times compared to rivals. Oppo claims that Andes can respond as quickly as 2.9 seconds, which is 2.5 times faster than industry standards.
While AndesGPT will possess features such as Swapped Attention to address issues like first-word reasoning, it’s clarified that Oppo’s upcoming flagship phone, the Find X7, may not incorporate all these capabilities. It is likely to be limited to generating custom wallpapers through AI and performing tasks such as summarizing notes and generating emails.
The availability of AndesGPT in the international versions of Oppo Find X7 phones remains uncertain. Given the shared resources between Oppo and its sister company OnePlus, it’s speculated that a similar chatbot may make its way to OnePlus phones as well.
