Meta AI Chatbot Arrives on WhatsApp in Pakistan

WhatsApp users in Pakistan can now chat with Meta’s AI assistant, accessible through a server-side update. No need to download a new app version, but keeping WhatsApp updated is recommended.

The new feature, called “Ask Meta AI or Search” or the “Meta AI” icon, allows users to chat with a conversational AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT. Powered by Meta’s Llama 2 open-source AI model, it can answer your questions and even generate images in under a minute.

Meta AI offers prompts to get you started, like “Help set fitness goals” or “Solo travel benefits,” but you can also type your own questions and use emojis. The generated images are clearly labeled as AI-made and have a small resolution.

Like regular chats, conversations with Meta AI can be downloaded, shared, and used in group chats. Interestingly, the feature is called “AI Character” on WhatsApp Desktop but functions identically. Conversations are synced across all your devices.
